Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Journal of Future is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to:

  • Accuracy: Present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance.
  • Originality: Ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification.
  • Citations: Properly cite and acknowledge the work of others.
  • Authorship: Include only those individuals as co-authors who have made significant contributions to the research.
  • Disclosure: Disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  • Error Reporting: Notify the journal promptly if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered in their published work.

Note: Concurrent submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal is considered unethical publishing behavior and is strictly unacceptable.

2. Editorial & Peer Review Responsibilities

For Editors:

  • Evaluate manuscripts based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance, without regard to the authors' race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
  • Ensure a fair, unbiased, and confidential peer-review process.
  • Recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

For Reviewers:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations to assist in the editorial decision-making process.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the manuscripts under review.
  • Alert the editor to any substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work of which they have personal knowledge.

⚠️ Publication Misconduct & Sanctions

The journal takes all forms of misconduct seriously, including but not limited to:

  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification.
  • Duplicate or redundant publication.
  • Improper authorship attribution (Ghostwriting or Guest authorship).

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. In cases of suspected misconduct, the journal follows COPE guidelines, which may lead to manuscript rejection, formal retraction, or notification of the authors' institutions.

3. Transparency and Ethical Oversight

Data & Reproducibility: Authors are encouraged to make their raw data available and to provide sufficient details to allow for the replication of the study. Ghostwriting or undisclosed editorial assistance is prohibited.

Ethical Oversight: Research involving humans or animals must comply with international ethical standards and institutional guidelines. Authors must provide evidence of ethical approval where applicable.

Corrections & Copyright:

  • Corrections: If significant errors are identified post-publication, the journal will issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction as appropriate.
  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right to publish under an open access CC BY 4.0 license.
  • Conflicts of Interest: All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any interests that could influence the evaluation or interpretation of the manuscript.

The Journal of Future is dedicated to ensuring integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in all stages of the publication process.
